"Abeille"
Abeille, Par J. Causse (Statuaire) is a French figural "mystery" clock, crafted circa 1890–1900, originated in France during the Belle Époque. This clock features a patinated bronzed spelter figure—possibly a classical goddess like Juno or Diana—standing elegantly atop a marble base. After French sculptor Julien Causse (1869 - 1938).
The figure holds a swinging pendulum that appears to move without a visible connection to the gears, creating a "mystery" effect. Finished with ornate detailing and a spherical timepiece, it serves as both a functional clock and a sophisticated piece of sculpture.
