"Ship's Boiler" Clock
A rare French industrial clock, specifically designed in the form of a ship boiler, was manufactured in France during the late 19th century (circa 1890). Attributed to the renowned firm of André Guilmet, a pioneer of the "Industrial Revolution" clock series, this piece celebrates Victorian-era engineering.
The silvered and gilt-brass boiler is raised up by four stylized dolphin supports above a red marble base that features a plinth inset with a plaque depicting a steamship and finished with a rope-twist bezel. The movement is an eight-day timepiece, twin barrels movement and count wheel strike on bell with Roman numerals. Finished with an automated rotating top mimicking a functioning beacon.
