French Elephant Clock
This exquisite French gilt bronze and porcelain elephant clock is a hallmark of late 19th to early 20th-century decorative art. Originating from France, this piece features movements signed by prestigious maker A. Marchandon.
The design features a majestic white porcelain elephant standing upon an ornate gilt bronze (ormolu) base. The elephant supports a cylindrical clock case adorned with an enamel dial and Arabic numerals. Crowning the timepiece is a vibrant spray of hand-painted, multi-colored porcelain flowers, epitomizing the opulent Louis XV revival style.
