"On Va Jouer (Par Flora)"
This vintage German swinging mystery clock, manufactured by Junghans around 1900, is a hallmark of Art Nouveau design. Signed DUBOIS; (Paul Dubois (1829 - 1905) was a French Sculptor & Painter and was rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris). This piece features a detailed bronze-finished figural sculpture, of a joyful young girl standing barefoot on a rock base.
Originating from Germany, the "mystery" lies in its unique movement: the clock housing acts as a pendulum, swinging freely from the figure's hand without visible gears connecting it to the base. It typically features a brass movement and a clean porcelain dial, blending mechanical ingenuity with elegant sculpture. This piece bears a plaque marked "On Va Jouer (Par Flora)".
Measurements are approximate: H15" x 5" base diam.
