French Crane Clock

Elegant antique Chinoiserie mantel clock, manufactured in France during the late 19th century (circa 1880), is a masterwork attributed to the renowned Parisian firm Samson et Cie. The centerpiece features a finely crafted Samson porcelain figure of a red-crowned crane, a traditional symbol of longevity, perched upon a base with a classic blue and white ground.

The timepiece is further embellished with delicate hand-painted porcelain floral blooms and is set within an intricate ormolu (gilt bronze) frame. This decorative object masterfully blends European horological precision with the Victorian era's deep fascination for Asian aesthetics.
