Clock & Candelabras
This rare Louis XV ormolu and Meissen porcelain clock garniture was created in mid-18th century France (circa 1755). This three-piece mantel set combines exquisite German Meissen porcelain figures, often modeled by the renowned artist J.J. Kändler, with ornate Parisian gilt-bronze (ormolu) mounts and delicate French porcelain flowers.
The central clock depicts porcelain figures of children playing while the matching candelabras feature musical figures, such as a lady at a keyboard and a gentleman playing a cello. This opulent ensemble epitomizes the Rococo fusion of fine ceramics and master metalwork.
