Societe Clusienne Clock
This Louis XVI style figural mantel clock, originating from France, was manufactured in the late 19th. It is attributed to The Société Clusienne (Société Clusienne d'Appareils de Précision et d'Horlogerie, or SCAPH) which is a French watchmaking company based in Cluses, France, active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
This piece features a spherical clock case held aloft by two elegant female figures, topped with a putto (cherub). Crafted from spelter, the sculptures rest on a pinkish - white marble base supported by ornate feet. The white enamel dial includes Arabic numerals and houses an eight-day movement.
