Heavenly Blue
Crafted in the 20th Century, this Sèvres-style porcelain jewelry box is a stunning example of 19th-century French art and it reflects the opulent Louis XVI revival period. While the specific artist is often unrecorded, it is frequently attributed to the renowned Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres.
The box features a vibrant "Bleu Celeste" color which in English translates to heavenly blue, and is a soft but bright shade of blue. This hue, according to scholarship on color theory, is said to be derived from Saxon blue and Saxon green which are rich colors developed by the Meissen porcelain factory in Germany. This beautiful vintage collectible is elaborately decorated with hand-painted floral motifs and gilded scrollwork and is securely fastened with an ornate gilt-bronze hinge and clasp.
