Austrian Cobalt Lamp
The Gebrüder Brünner oil lamp is a distinguished piece of Austrian decorative history, typically manufactured during the late 19th century (approx. 1857–1907). Founded by brothers Gustav and Friedrich Brunner in Vienna, the company became a premier competitor to the renowned R. Ditmar firm before the two merged in 1907.
This vintage Austrian cobalt blue oil lamp is crafted from high-quality brass, cobalt and white glass and features ornate neo-renaissance or art nouveau motifs, such as chiseled leaf patterns on its base. The name "Gebruder Brunner Wien" is located on the wick winder knob of the lamp's burner mechanism.
